Find out if you have a good case
Many people who suffer an injury in an accident that wasn’t their fault often fail to pursue their right to seek fair and full compensation for their injuries and damages from those responsible for the accident. When you have medical bills piling up after treating your injuries and are out of work recovering, it can be very tempting to accept a quick insurance settlement to help defray the financial burdens of debilitating injuries. However, you may later come to find that your losses are far greater than you first imagined and that once you’ve accepted a settlement check you can’t demand more money from those responsible for your losses. That is why it is critical if you’ve been injured in an accident in West Orange, to consult with an experienced personal injury attorney about your legal rights and options and about the full extent of damages you have incurred and are likely to incur in the future due to your accident.

West Orange is a township located in Essex County, New Jersey. Originally part of the city of Newark, West Orange broke off from Newark as part of the municipality of Orange, which was historically called Newark Mountains. Orange later broke up into smaller communities over local funding issues. West Orange developed as a resort community during the 19th century, with residents from New York City coming to enjoy the community’s spring waters. West Orange later became home to the first planned community in the U.S. Located at the peak of the Watchung Mountains, West Orange is a vantage point over the valleys east towards Manhattan. It lent strategic value for George Washington and his troops during the American Revolution. The wooded South Mountain Reservation has rocks supposedly shaped like the backs of large turtles, hence the name for its local ‘Turtle Back Zoo’. West Orange has a population of approximately 46,000 people. West Orange is bordered by the Essex County communities of Essex Fells, Livingston, Millburn, Maplewood, Montclair, Roseland, and Verona.
The reality is that the vast majority of personal injury cases are resolved long before the case gets to trial, often even before a lawsuit is filed in court. Most cases are resolved through a negotiated settlement, in which the defendant agrees to pay a sum of money in exchange for the injured plaintiff releasing his or her claims against the defendant. While a settlement often represents an efficient resolution of your claim for damages, we will never advise you to accept a settlement that provides you with less than fair and full compensation; we are always prepared to take your claim to court and to trial if it represents the best option for getting you the financial recovery you deserve.
It can often be difficult to determine how long any personal injury case will take to resolve. There are many factors that affect the length of a case. If the at-fault party accepts liability for the accident and if both you and the at-fault party agree on the extent of your damages that you seek compensation for, it may be possible to settle a case in as little as a few months. But if liability or damages are being contested in your case, or if you are still undergoing treatment and recovery for your injuries and your ongoing and future damages are not certain, it can be more difficult to resolve your case and it may become necessary to go to court; the length of litigation will depend on the amount of evidence in the case and the schedule of the trial court, but many court cases take one to three years to reach trial.
