Irvington is a township located in Essex County, New Jersey. The township is bordered by the Essex County towns of Maplewood to its west, Newark to its east, Hillside to its south, South Orange to its northwest, and by Union, in Union County, to its southwest. Irvington was founded from parts of Clinton Township in 1874. While part of Clinton, the community was known as Camptown, but in 1850 renamed itself Irvingtown in honor of Washington Irving to avoid association with the song “Camptown Races”. For years, Irvington was home to the amusement park known as Olympic Park, located along the border with Maplewood.
When you file a personal injury claim, investigators from the insurance company or the defense lawyers may monitor your social media postings for any evidence that contradicts your claims, such as if you post a different account of your accident than the one you’ve given to the insurance company or alleged in your claim or in testimony under oath, or if you post photos or video of yourself engaging in activities or travel after you’ve claimed to have suffered debilitating injuries. These social media postings can be used to attack your credibility and seriously hurt the legitimacy of your case.
The first offer of compensation from the insurance company rarely represents fair compensation for your damages or the full amount of compensation the insurer is willing to offer. In addition, once you accept a settlement, you cannot demand additional compensation if you incur further losses in the future due to your injuries. You should never accept a settlement from the insurance company without first having it reviewed by our personal injury attorneys. We can advise you as to whether an offer represents fair and full compensation for your past and future damages, and help protect you from accidentally giving up important legal rights and options.
